Invasion 1066: The Battle of Hastings

Product Description

Hastings Banner
Invasion 1066: The Battle of Hastings is our exciting new game designed by Norm Smith. Originally published as Senlac Hill by Saxon Games, we have enhanced this great design by developing the rule set even further and providing new artwork by industry veteran Charles Kibler.
Can you as William the Conqueror become King of England? Or will Harold deny the invader and keep his throne? Map scale is 50 meters per hex and the units vary in size from 100 to 250 men. The game is quick-playing and bloody with easy to understand mechanics. Historical touches such as cavalry charges, army morale by troop type, leader loss, arrow supply, Saxon javelins, the Papal banner; it is all here in a very easy to play package.

  1. Short Intense Medieval Combat! 4 Star Review

This is a simple kit, with moderately complex rules. Not as simple as old AH games, but less complicated than the SPQR series. It has a wonderful feel to it, can be learned quickly, and plays in a couple hours. Great beer and pretzels game at night with a friend...play, turn the sides around, and play again!

  2. Huge War in Little Game 4 Star Review

The parts are great. The game is beautiful. The mechanics are simple. The rules are to the point and easy to follow. However, when you start to set up this little game, you start to realize what a complex and disjointed monster the battlefield looks like. Planning on flanks and the facing directions of your troops has to happen before the first turn is made. It's a lovely battle that takes only 90 minutes, but it's a swirl of movements that have to be choreographed with some precision.

  3. Game with 5 star quality 4 Star Review

Though I focus on the American Civil War, a battle as famous as Hastings is worth a spot in my collection. For product quality, Revolution is hard to beat so I have given this game to myself for Christmas.
Though the battle mechanics are much different than an ACW game, the same great quality was used to make this game. Well worth the money spent.

I'm a bit of a boxed game snob. I am however completely satisfied with the components and the excellent rules set
I enjoyed the historical notes and design notes.

  5. A little game that's BIG on history 5 Star Review

Well written rules support a game that is easy to learn, but a challenge to master. Plays great solo and face-to-face.

Envio perfecto y rápido, y más teniendo en cuenta que he pedido para España, me ha tardado menos de una semana.
    Muy recomendable.
