Disappointing. I really wanted to like this game. It has all the Tactical elements I was looking for. Wooden Ships and Iron Men game of sailing ships was similar to the movement mechanics; I was very familiar with that. Every battle is forced set-up; there is not much maneuver to contact. Very laborious to transcribe all the moves. Every move takes so much writing and paper.
Over-priced. I realize that the producers of this game wanted to appeal to gamers from the country of Japan and the U.S. That’s fine. But I felt that I was paying for the extra rules, weight of product, and charts that I was never going to use or get value from. Sadly, maybe it should have been sold as separate language versions?
I’m glad I have the game; it has some amazing accurate historical gameplay. All the ships are there to great detail. I enjoy naval games.

Perfect type of rules weight for me. 14 pages of very logic rules to learn, so you get a very quick grasp of them. Quick gameplay and insanely fun :) The hidden movement make for some weird action sometimes!

Revolution shipped the game very quickly. The box was damaged but no damage to components inside. Just started playing. Easy to learn and have enjoyed the game so far.

Part of back of box partially caved in, in the corner its actually small deep push in of the box back. The outer shipping box wasn't damaged; so I have to assume box was damaged before it was ever packed in shipping box. Pretty poor way to do business in my opinion. Haven't opened the game as may be returning it.

Jack Greene is surely a legend in the world of board wargaming and his Iron bottom Sound has been a milestone in the Naval Games. Still today we don't have another system that works as IBS did and does!!
